SIO Andhra Pradesh Urges the Government to Condemn Israel’s Aggression in Gaza, Snap Deals with Israel

Vijayawada: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Andhra Pradesh, has expressed grave concern over the continued genocide, occupation, and human rights violations in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, where thousands of innocent civilians – especially children and women – have lost their lives due to the indiscriminate aggression of the Israeli regime.

Despite the growing calls for ceasefire and accountability from global civil society, governments around the world, including India, have failed to take a principled and humanitarian stance on the issue.

Addressing a press conference at Press Club here Monday, SIO Andhra Pradesh said, “As part of our commitment to global justice, SIO Andhra Pradesh will observe “Palestine Solidarity Week” from 28th July to 3rd August 2025 across the state, to Raise awareness among students and youth, Highlight the ongoing genocide and illegal occupation, and Mobilise voices in support of justice and peace.”

Key Issues to Address:

Continuous bombardment and destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza,

Forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes,

  • Blockade of humanitarian aid, including medical supplies and food,
  • Targeting of educational institutions, journalists, and relief workers,
  • Unjust incarceration and torture of Palestinians, including children, and
  • Violation of international law and UN resolutions by the Israeli regime.

Demands and Actions Expected from our Government of India:

  1. Official Condemnation of the Israeli aggression and ongoing genocide in Gaza.
  2. Diplomatic Measures, including suspension of defence and trade deals with Israel.
  3. Support for International Investigations into war crimes and human rights violations.
  4. Emergency Humanitarian Aid to Palestinian hospitals and relief agencies.
  5. Solidarity Statement upholding India’s historic support for the Palestinian cause.

The Palestine Solidarity Week will include webinars, public awareness drives, interfaith solidarity programmes, and digital mobilisations. Prominent human rights defenders and global voices are expected to participate.

SIO Andhra Pradesh has urged all individuals and institutions committed to peace and justice to join hands in this historic moment to stand with Palestine and uphold human dignity.

Pitchuka Srinivas, Divi Kumar, Mohammad Kareemuddin, Aamir Fahed, G. Rohit, Akbar Basha, Ravi Chandra, Mushahid Baig, Muneer Ahmed, Abdur Raqeeb participated in the press meet and shared their views on the situation prevailing in Palestine and placed their demands.
