Jaipur: Mohammad Nazimuddin, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan, has voiced strong concern over the absence of textbooks for students in grades 1 to 6 in government schools. Even after one and a half months of the academic session, books have not been provided. This delay, caused by negligence of the Education Department, is affecting millions of students. Their academic progress is being severely impacted.
Nazimuddin said education is every child’s fundamental right. It is disturbing that schools still lack textbooks after such a long delay. In some schools where books have been given, only 50% of students have incomplete sets. This negligence has left children preparing for their first tests, scheduled between August 18 and 20, without proper study material.
Many schools have told students to download chapters from online links. This is impractical in rural areas due to poor internet access and lack of resources. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan has demanded that the state government act immediately. All government schools must be supplied with textbooks without further delay.
Nazimuddin urged the government to take emergency steps to end the shortage. He called for a time-bound plan to prevent such lapses in the future. He also appealed to social organizations and citizens to unite for protecting children’s right to education.
