Madrasas Must Remain Strong Amid Rising Challenges: Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani

Saharanpur: Addressing the third annual general session of Rabita Madaris West Zone-3 at Jamia Rahmat, Ghaghroli, Darul Uloom Deoband rector and All India president of Rabita Madaris, Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, emphasized that Muslims in India are facing unprecedented challenges to their faith and identity. He said that in the wake of ideological attacks, the spread of apostasy, and attempts to undermine Islam, the importance of madrasas and maktabs has increased manifold.

“Maintaining standards, strengthening institutions, and resisting contemporary trials is the responsibility of madrasa administrators,” he stressed. Mufti Nomani highlighted that the Rabita Madaris was established to unify the syllabus, conduct joint examinations, and ensure quality education across affiliated institutions. He also urged special focus on women’s education and adult literacy to safeguard society against modern temptations, noting the rising influence of skepticism among women.

Presiding over the session, Maulana Muhammad Aqil Qasmi, rector of Madrasa Badrul Uloom, reminded participants that the true purpose of Islamic education is divine pleasure, not worldly employment. He called on administrators to ensure discipline, syllabus completion, and fairness in examinations.

During the event, Mufti Syed Saleh Ahsani of Madrasa Mazahir Uloom was felicitated for his induction into the Majlis-e-Shura of Darul Uloom Deoband. Reports on the previous year’s examinations and recommendations for reforms were also presented. Over 400 madrasas from Saharanpur and Shamli districts participated in the gathering.
