New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) along with prominent religious, community, and social leaders of India had issued a collective appeal for a large and peaceful public protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, on Friday, August 22, at 3:00 PM. The program aims to express solidarity with the people of Palestine and raise a collective voice against the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
Reiterating the call, JIH Vice President Malik Moatasim Khan said that the humanitarian crisis in Palestine demands urgent global attention. He noted that thousands of Palestinian men have been killed, countless women have lost their children, and hundreds of thousands of children have been targeted in the violence. Khan added that even today, families in Gaza cry for water, medicine, and protection from extreme weather conditions.
Calling the situation “a burden on the conscience of humanity,” Khan stressed that participation in the Jantar Mantar protest would be a proof of human dignity, friendship, and national unity. He said, “It is our responsibility to raise our voice for the oppressed Palestinians and stand against injustice.”
The protest is expected to see wide participation from national, social, and human rights organizations. Leaders and representatives from different groups will address the gathering and share their views on the situation in Gaza. According to the organizers, the program is not limited to political expression but is also a moral duty for every individual who values justice and humanity.
The JIH Vice President has urged all citizens, activists, students, and community leaders to prepare in advance and reach the venue immediately after Friday prayers. By assembling in large numbers, participants will send a strong message of solidarity and resistance against oppression.
