The Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO), Coimbatore, successfully conducted a two-day Expo at Hidhaaya Islamic College for Women on August 23-24. The event aimed to create awareness among youth and the wider community on moral, social, and cultural issues, while showcasing the activities and values upheld by GIO.

The Expo was inaugurated with great enthusiasm in the presence of Ayisha Ismail, Zonal President of GIO Tamilnadu and Puducherry. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Karthikeyan Inaugurated the Expo. Mrs. Hafsa, District Child Protection Officer, graced the occasion and appreciated GIO’s efforts in awakening social awareness and community responsibility among young women.
Welcome address was given by GIO Coimbatore City president Ms. Ruqiya Thasneem. The expo had Stalls on education, morality, literature, Islamic values, social awareness, and community service attracted visitors, while interactive sessions and activities engaged young participants.
The special highlight was the Palestine Corner which brought tears to the eyes of the audience!
The second day saw even greater participation from schools, colleges, and families. Interactive displays, and cultural presentations emphasised moral responsibility and interfaith harmony. Visitors appreciated the creativity, research, and dedication reflected in the stalls, and the Expo concluded with gratitude expressed to all participants, volunteers, and supporters.
The event provided a vibrant platform for meaningful conversations on morality, social responsibility, and community building.
The presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Karthikeyan as well as Mrs. Hafsa, and other dignitaries added recognition to GIO’s efforts, while the enthusiastic participation of students, families, and officials highlighted the success and relevance of the initiative.
