Iran’s Supreme Leader’s Representative in India Calls for Unity and Interfaith Cooperation in India

New Delhi: Hojatoleslam Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, the Supreme Leader’s representative in India, has urged Muslims to strengthen solidarity and work with followers of other religions to build a safe and compassionate society.

In his statement issued to the media, he emphasized the Quranic call, “And hold fast to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided” (Aal Imran: 103). He said Muslims must uphold religious principles while avoiding behavior that disrespects other faiths. According to him, mutual respect for beliefs is the foundation of trust and unity.

Citing the Quranic verse that encourages fairness toward non-Muslims who live peacefully, Hakim Elahi stressed cooperation in reform, security, and progress. He reminded the community of its historical role in science, culture, and anti-colonial struggles, urging renewed contributions through unity and dialogue. He called on scholars, youth, and leaders to strengthen the dignity of the Ummah and support India’s development.
