Aligarh: The Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), inaugurated the fifth edition of the Stimulating Urban Renewal through Entrepreneurship (SURE) workshop, focusing on entrepreneurship as a catalyst for sustainable urban development. The 12-week workshop, organised in collaboration with the Bauer College of Business, University of Houston (USA), manifested an MoU between Prof. Asiya Chaudhary, Aligarh Muslim University (India) and Prof. Saleha Khummawala, University of Houston (USA).

Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AMU, and Chairperson of the SURE Programme, inaugurated the event and underscored the significance of entrepreneurial education in addressing contemporary urban challenges. He advised participants to value time and emphasised the importance of brand building in business ventures.
AMU Registrar Mr. Mohd Imran, IPS, highlighted entrepreneurship as a driving force for economic growth and social transformation. He encouraged students to integrate digital marketing and technological innovations into their entrepreneurial pursuits, focusing on value creation and consumer satisfaction.
Prof. Asiya Chaudhary, Convener of the SURE Programme, introduced the initiative, detailing its objectives and achievements. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has trained nearly 250 participants, with 45 successfully establishing their own ventures.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohd Saeem Khan, followed by technical sessions aimed at providing practical training and knowledge-sharing opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.
