AIUTC Delhi Calls for Establishment of Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan Museum in Tibbiya College

New Delhi: A delegation of the All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Delhi State, led by Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, met with Dr. Yogta Manjal, Director, AYUSH, Government of Delhi, and, in light of a resolution passed in the General Body Meeting of the Central Committee of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, demanded that a museum be established at A&U Tibbiya College in memory of its founder, the eminent freedom fighter Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan.

The delegation emphasised that such a museum should be set up at the earliest so that future generations and researchers can benefit from it.

It was highlighted that Hakim Ajmal Khan accomplished numerous extraordinary feats and dedicated everything to the nation. Therefore, it is essential that his legacy be preserved at his most significant creation – A&U Tibbiya College – through the establishment of a museum.

The AIUTC also presented a copy of the memorandum submitted to the AYUSH Director to the current Principal, Prof. Mohammad Zubair, and appealed for his cooperation as well. This is the first integrated Tibbiya College in India, where, since its inception, a single Principal has overseen both Ayurveda and Unani departments. It was further clarified that the notion of appointing separate Principals for Ayurveda and Unani is an idea floated by some short-sighted individuals, whereas Hakim Ajmal Khan’s vision was to keep the teaching of Ayurveda and Unani under one roof, so that both disciplines could work together, achieve greater success, and maintain integration.

The delegation also included Dr. Ghiyasuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Mufti Javed Anwar Qasmi, and Dr. Athar Mahmood.
