Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Launches Seerat Campaign in Eastern UP to Promote Prophet’s Message

Lucknow: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Eastern UP, inaugurated its Seerat Abhiyan at the UP Press Club in Lucknow on Friday, aiming to spread the universal message of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a solution to the pressing challenges of modern society. The campaign, themed “Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), Benefactor of Humanity,” will run from September 5 to 14 across Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Naib Ameer, Engineer Mohammad Salim, emphasized that the teachings of the Prophet stand as a guiding light in times of hatred and division. “Today, hostility is being spread against Islam and Muslims,” he said. “But the Quran teaches us that hatred can be countered only by good character, justice and fairness. Allah has given dignity to every human being, irrespective of religion or community. We must respect all equally.”

Maulana Alauddin Nadvi highlighted the Prophet’s extraordinary role, stating, “The Messenger of Allah was born twice—once at birth and again when he received prophethood. He was made Khatam-un-Nabiyeen (Seal of the Prophets), and his message is the greatest blessing for humanity.”
Speaking at the event, senior journalist Anand Vardhan underlined the universal nature of justice. “If there is oppression anywhere in the world, it is oppression against humanity itself,” he remarked. “No religion teaches hatred; anyone who spreads hate deviates from its true essence.”

Maulana Saif Abbas Naqvi, President of the Shia Chand Committee, added that the Prophet was sent as a mercy for all creation, not just Muslims. “He invited people to Islam through his noble character, winning hearts with compassion and integrity,” he said.
Campaign convener Maulana Mohammad Tahir Madni, also the Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind UP (East), described the present social climate as one of “communal mistrust and moral decline.” He stressed that the Seerat (life) of the Prophet provides the remedy through love, peace, justice and brotherhood.
As part of the ten-day campaign, public meetings, seminars, conferences, student competitions, and women’s programs will be organized. Outreach will also extend to hospitals, jails, orphanages and other community centers. Booklets and pamphlets on the Prophet’s teachings will be distributed widely, while social media and online campaigns will ensure digital outreach.
The Seerat Abhiyan aims to deliver the Prophet’s message to every household, inspiring harmony and human solidarity.
