Ranchi: Two young men, Abul Fazal and Mohammad Naushad, have been honoured for saving the life of Narayan Pandey, who was drowning in Bada Talab. Their quick action has drawn praise from both community leaders and officials.
Eyewitnesses said Narayan Pandey was struggling in the water when Abul and Naushad immediately jumped in and pulled him out. Onlookers reported that the two youths acted without hesitation, focused only on saving a life.
Residents described the act as an example of courage and humanity. Community leaders highlighted that the incident sent a powerful message against communal divisions. A local leader noted that the bravery of the two young Muslims showed that saving human life is above all differences.
Recognising their contribution, Shamsher Alam, Vice President of the Minority Commission, honoured Abul and Naushad with a memento and financial reward. He called on the district administration and government to provide them employment for their brave efforts. Alam said, “They did not look at religion or caste. They saved a life for the sake of humanity.”
The Mahavir Mandal also praised the youths and urged authorities to encourage such acts. Its President, Jai Singh Yadav, said Abul and Naushad deserve small employment opportunities as recognition of their dedication.
The incident has drawn wide attention on social media, where many users described the two men as role models. Citizens of Ranchi continue to celebrate their heroism, calling it a reminder of the values of unity, courage, and respect for human life.
