Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation organized a Get-Together program that brought together youth, players, and community members from different parts of the region. The gathering aimed to strengthen Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and to discuss collective development of the city.
Renowned Kannada orator and secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka, Muhammad Kanhi, addressed the audience. He urged people to clear misconceptions between communities and avoid believing rumours without verification. He stressed that human dignity requires standing with one another in times of happiness and sorrow and avoiding actions that damage humanity.
A B.Ed student spoke about his personal experience. He said many had discouraged him from studying in Bhatkal, spreading negative views of the city. After spending time there, he found the hospitality of the people genuine and appreciated the culture of harmony that he experienced first-hand.
Maulana Abdul Raqeeb Nadvi, General Secretary of Majlis Islah and Tanzeem Bhatkal, highlighted the value of such programs. He said regular interactions help people sit together, exchange ideas, and strengthen ties across communities. Former Federation President Maulana Azizur Rahman Nadvi reminded the audience that a similar event was held three years ago and expressed hope that such gatherings would continue on a regular basis.
Maulana Wasiullah Nadvi, President of the Federation, thanked all attendees, with special mention of players from the homeland. He emphasized that helping one another is a shared duty of humanity. Mubashir Hallare, General Secretary of the Federation, welcomed the participants and presented a brief report of the Federation’s activities and achievements.
The event served as a reminder of the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration in building a peaceful society. Organizers and participants expressed confidence that such efforts would contribute to stronger communal understanding in Bhatkal.
