NFGIO Condemns FIRs against GIO Members in Kerala for Pro-Palestine Protest

New Delhi: The National Federation of Girls Islamic Organisation (NFGIO) has strongly condemned the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed by Kannur Police in Kerala against GIO members who had participated in a peaceful pro-Palestine demonstration.

The NFGIO President, Advocate Sumaiya Roshan, described the FIRs as “shameful and highly condemnable.” She said that invoking charges such as “rioting” merely for raising slogans and holding flags and placards amounted to an “absurd and gross misuse of law.”

“Communalising a global humanitarian crisis is unacceptable. Such actions divert attention from the urgent need to address the ongoing genocide,” she stated.

Advocate Roshan demanded that the FIRs against GIO members be withdrawn immediately and criticised similar actions targeting pro-Palestine demonstrations across the country.

“Voices for compassion, justice, and global solidarity must be allowed to resonate freely and without fear,” she emphasised.
