Patna: On the instructions of the Bihar State Minorities Commission Chairman, Maulana Ghulam Rasool Baliyavi, the Minorities Commission has sent an important letter to the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Champaran district (Motihari). In this letter, the Commission has demanded the immediate arrest and strict legal action against one Himanshu Kumar, who made inappropriate and provocative comments on social media regarding the sacred Islamic religious site (Madina Sharif) and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The letter states that on September 5, on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, when Muslims were celebrating, the said person wrote an objectionable post on social media. In this post, he used inappropriate words against Islam and its sacred sites, which deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims and created apprehensions of a tense environment.
The Minorities Commission has made it clear that the act of posting such objectionable things was based on malicious intent to disrupt communal harmony in society and spread religious hatred. The letter said, “It is essential to take the strictest legal action against such individuals to ensure that no one else dares to commit such an act in the future.”
The letter further states that the local administration has not yet taken appropriate action in this matter, nor has the accused been arrested, which has led to anger and unease within the Muslim community.
The Minorities Commission has urged the district administration to take this matter seriously, act immediately against the accused, and submit a report to the Commission.
