Ajmer Dargah Official Demands Action Against Hate Campaign

Ajmer: Syed Sarwar Chishti, Secretary of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah Anjuman, has raised strong concerns about the growing atmosphere of hostility and discrimination faced by Muslims across India. Speaking to the press, he condemned Hindu organisations for spreading divisive messages that encourage boycotts of Muslim traders and promote religious tension in villages and towns.

Chishti pointed to incidents where innocent Muslims were attacked and killed on suspicion of carrying beef. He criticised the targeting of Muslim youth, many of whom are arrested and denied bail, while those instigating violence escape accountability. He urged the central government to take strict legal action against individuals and groups responsible for spreading hatred and coercion.

The Dargah Secretary highlighted forced practices where Muslims are compelled to chant religious slogans such as ‘Jai Shri Ram’. He described such actions as bullying and a direct attack on the dignity of elderly citizens. “In no Muslim country are Hindus forced to say ‘Allahu Akbar’, yet here even 80-year-old Muslims are coerced,” he stated.

Chishti also expressed concern about threats issued to Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Madani. He recalled the contributions of Madani’s grandfather, Hussain Ahmad Madani, during India’s freedom struggle and questioned why Muslims are repeatedly made to prove their loyalty to the nation.

Calling on Indian Muslims to raise their voices for their rights while staying mindful of their faith and national responsibilities, Chishti said the spread of religious disputes and intolerance is alarming and must be urgently addressed by authorities.
