New Delhi: India and Egypt are working to significantly expand their trade partnership, with plans to raise bilateral commerce from the current 5 billion dollars to 12 billion dollars. The announcement was made by Egypt’s Ambassador to India, Kamel Zayed Kamel Galal, during an interaction with media.
The envoy said this planned growth in trade would help ease economic pressures in both countries while generating new momentum for cooperation. He underlined the untapped potential for trade and investment between the two nations and described the opportunities as immense.
Ambassador Galal highlighted the deep cultural and historical ties between India and Egypt, noting that both are ancient civilizations with modern roles in the international arena. He said the two countries also share responsibility for contributing to regional stability and global development.
He praised India’s global standing and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, describing India as a respected voice in world affairs and a vital regional player. Extending best wishes on the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday, he called him one of the most prominent leaders of the current era.
The ambassador also emphasized that while international challenges remain, they present opportunities to build stability and prosperity. He said closer India-Egypt cooperation could drive economic growth, create opportunities for people, and strengthen bilateral ties.
The trade expansion plan reflects the shared goal of both nations to deepen economic engagement and broaden their partnership in a changing global landscape.
