True Leadership Lies in Ensuring Justice, Not Hate Speech: Mohammed Kunhi

Hubballi: True leadership must be defined by justice and compassion rather than by divisive rhetoric, said Mohammed Kunhi, State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. He was speaking at a programme on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) organized in Hubballi on Thursday.

Kunhi noted that although society is progressing in development, human relations are deteriorating. He emphasized that the purpose of such gatherings is to bring communities closer. “Prophets, saints, and thinkers came to guide people with hope, not fear. Today suspicion, hatred, and tension dominate even families. But where love prevails, Hindus and Muslims will not see each other as burdens. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as a mercy for all creation,” he said.

The programme was attended by people from diverse faiths. Shri Shivayogi Mahaswamiji of Dasoha Mutha, Annigeri, highlighted the value of good deeds. “Life is given to us to perform satkarma. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) lived as a messenger through action, not only words. Basavanna too lived by this principle. Religions must coexist and flourish, for all ultimately guide towards moksha,” he said.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Abdul Kareem, while Babajan Mudhol proposed the vote of thanks. Distinguished participants included Shankaranna Munavalli, Gabrel Pilley, Dr. Suresh Korlahalli, Ashok Konnur, Dr. G. Prema, Deepa Gauri, Lingaraj Angadi, and Maulana Liyaqat Mulla. Committee Convenor Sadiq Shaikh, along with several other community leaders, also attended.
