Al-Mustafa Representative Urges Women to Become Spiritual Role Models

Lucknow: Syed Kamal Hosseini, representative of Al-Mustafa International University in India, underlined the vital role of women as spiritual and practical guides for the Muslim Ummah. Speaking at a special ethics session at the Zainabiyya School in Lucknow, he addressed female seminary students on the theme “Female Exemplars in the Quran.”

Hosseini emphasized that spiritual growth is not limited to men. He said women can also reach the highest levels of moral and spiritual excellence, citing examples of Lady Maryam, Lady Asiya, and Lady Fizza. He described them as role models whose lives reflect strength, piety, and resilience.

To illustrate his point, Hosseini recounted an incident from the life of Lady Fizza, the servant of Lady Fatima Zahra. When separated from her caravan in the desert, she responded to all questions by quoting Quranic verses. He said this showed the depth of spiritual elevation women could attain and their ability to inspire others.

The session focused on encouraging students to learn from the legacy of women who shaped Islamic history. Hosseini told students that by studying such lives, they could apply lessons of morality and discipline in their own spiritual journey.

The program also highlighted the need for women to engage with Islamic moral teachings to raise the ethical standards of society. Hosseini called on the seminary students to see themselves as future role models, combining spiritual growth with practical contributions to the Muslim community.
