CPI(M) Condemns Rising Communal Attacks in Rajasthan, Demands Strict Action

Jaipur: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly condemned the recent surge in communal attacks across Rajasthan, including incidents of mob violence against minorities in Jaipur, Bhilwara, and Dungarpur. The party accused right-wing groups of carrying out targeted assaults under political protection and called on the government to ensure rule of law and constitutional rights.

A CPI(M) delegation visited victims of recent attacks in Jaipur’s Pratap Nagar, where Bobas Daniel and his family were brutally assaulted during a prayer gathering on September 21, allegedly by RSS and Bajrang Dal members. Two days later, the Hindustan Bible Institute in the same area was also attacked under accusations of religious conversion. According to eyewitnesses, the mob vandalized property, assaulted residents including women and children, and intimidated neighbors.

The delegation met survivors and condemned police complicity, alleging that officers supported the attackers, seized documents from the institute, and detained visitors instead of arresting perpetrators. Local residents dismissed accusations of religious conversion as false and expressed solidarity with the victims.

The CPI(M) highlighted that minorities in Rajasthan face growing violence, including:
– The September 15 murder of a cattle herder from Madhya Pradesh in Bhilwara.
– Multiple attacks on Christian communities, with at least nine incidents reported this month following the passage of the Anti-Conversion Bill 2025.
– Rising extortion rackets in southern and eastern Rajasthan by self-styled “cow protector” gangs, accused of robbery, blackmail, and killings.

Party leaders called the Anti-Conversion Bill “unconstitutional” and a direct assault on religious freedom, alleging it was introduced to safeguard casteist and “Manuvadi” structures.

Dr. Sanjay Madhav, CPI(M) Jaipur district secretary, said that law and order in Rajasthan has collapsed under the BJP-RSS-backed government, accusing several ministers and legislators of fueling communal hatred.

The party delegation demanded:
– Immediate halt to attacks on Muslims and Christians.
– Arrest and prosecution of Bajrang Dal, VHP, RSS-linked groups involved in violence.
– Prevention of the Anti-Conversion Bill 2025 from being enacted by the Governor.

The CPI(M) urged citizens to unite, strengthen communal harmony, and resist divisive forces, declaring that communal violence would be countered with equal determination.
