Riyadh Book Fair 2025 Opens Thursday, Uzbekistan Named Guest of Honor

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 is set to open this Thursday, running through October 11, with Uzbekistan as the distinguished guest of honor, reported the Arab News.

Organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the fair will be hosted at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh.

More than 2,000 publishing houses from over 25 countries will participate in the event, which aims to foster cultural exchange, literary dialogue, and industry innovation.

The fair’s program includes more than 200 cultural events, such as author talks, book signings, and interactive workshops. A dedicated children’s zone will host age-appropriate activities.

In addition, there will be a business zone where publishers, literary agencies, and service providers can network. Sessions on entrepreneurship, copyright, licensing, and collaborations with governmental or financial entities are also planned.

This year’s spotlight on Uzbekistan will highlight its literature, history, and arts, leveraging stronger cultural ties with Saudi Arabia.

As one of the region’s largest cultural gatherings, the Riyadh Book Fair is expected to draw significant local and international participation.
