Nationwide Protests in India Condemn Israel’s Atrocities in Gaza

New Delhi: Thousands of people across India joined nationwide demonstrations condemning Israel’s military assault on Gaza and expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. The protests were organized by the Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine (IPSP) and BDS India, with major gatherings reported from Delhi, Hyderabad, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Pune.

At Jantar Mantar in Delhi, protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners demanding an immediate ceasefire. Slogans such as “Free Palestine” and “Stop the genocide now” echoed through the crowd as students, activists, and trade union members called for an end to Israel’s occupation.

Speakers at the rally reminded the audience of India’s historical support for Palestine and criticized the government’s silence over Israel’s actions. They urged India to suspend military and trade relations with Israel and align with international calls for justice. Several speakers also encouraged citizens to boycott Israeli goods and corporations accused of complicity in human rights violations.

Participants observed a minute of silence for civilians killed in Gaza, including women and children. Placards read “Ceasefire Now” and “End the Apartheid.” The protests concluded peacefully with a collective pledge to intensify awareness campaigns and public mobilization until global action brings an end to the ongoing violence.

The widespread turnout reflected growing public anger in India over Israel’s attacks and reaffirmed enduring solidarity with the people of Palestine.
