EFLU Palestine Solidarity March Disrupted by Violence

Hyderabad: Students at the English and Foreign Languages University organized a Palestine solidarity march to show support for civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza. The peaceful protest reportedly ended in violence as members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad attacked participants.

Students allege that the attack involved physical assault and verbal abuse. They further claim that police personnel present did not intervene to stop the violence and instead sided with the attackers, detaining several student protesters. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of students expressing dissent on campus.

Protesters condemned the police response, calling it a violation of democratic rights. They demanded accountability for both the ABVP members involved in the attack and the officers who allegedly failed to protect them. Several student groups have urged the university administration to take immediate action and ensure a safe environment for peaceful expression.

As of now, the EFLU administration has not released an official statement regarding the incident. Students are calling for an independent inquiry to investigate the attack and the police’s conduct. They emphasize that universities should uphold the rights of students to organize and participate in peaceful protests without fear of harassment or violence.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions on campuses where political and ideological differences intersect with student activism. Advocates for student rights have pointed to the need for clear protocols for handling campus protests and ensuring accountability when violence occurs.
