Rakesh Tikait Urges People to Reject Communal Politics

Baghpat: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has appealed to citizens to protect communal harmony and not let political slogans divide them. Addressing a gathering in Baghpat, he criticised the use of religious slogans for political gain.

Tikait referred to the slogan “I love Mohammed” and said that such phrases are being politicised to create tension. “I love Mohammed,” he stated, pointing out how the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using such slogans to polarise voters. He called on the public to remain alert to these tactics.

He stressed that divisive politics weakens communities and distracts people from real issues. Tikait said that farmers, workers, and ordinary citizens need to stand united. He warned that political parties aim to create a communal rift for electoral advantage.

Tikait also reminded the audience of the power of farmer unity during the previous farmers’ movement. He said that the strength of collective struggle lies in focusing on common concerns like agriculture, prices, and livelihood. He urged the people not to allow anyone to disturb social peace.

Tikait’s statement comes at a time of rising communal rhetoric in public spaces. His message called for focusing on real issues instead of falling into the trap of political polarization.
