Meerut: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Rajkumar Bhati has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to divide the country through Hindu-Muslim politics. Speaking at a public meeting in Meerut, Bhati said BJP leaders were using communal rhetoric to distract people from issues like unemployment, rising prices, and declining public welfare.
He said the ruling party’s strategy is to inflame religious emotions for electoral gains rather than address the daily struggles of ordinary citizens. “The BJP is not talking about jobs or the economy. They are only focused on creating divisions among Hindus and Muslims,” Bhati told the gathering.
The RLD leader urged voters to stay united and reject any politics that harms social harmony. He emphasized that his party stands for peace, inclusivity, and development that benefits all communities. Bhati also called upon the youth to question the government on employment and education instead of getting drawn into religious disputes.
Western Uttar Pradesh has often witnessed polarization during election seasons. Bhati’s remarks reflect the growing criticism from opposition parties accusing the BJP of exploiting communal sentiments. As elections approach, political observers note that issues of identity and religion continue to dominate the region’s political conversation, overshadowing economic concerns.
