Bhiwadi, Jan. 4: A case of lynching of a 24-year-old youth has come to light in Bhiwadi. One of his friends saved his life by running away. The incident took place after a minor collision with a car followed by an argument on Tuesday. According to Additional SP Dilip Saini, the accused Ashish Pal Gurjar involved in the incident has been taken into custody and the police are searching for other accused.
On the day of the incident, at 12.50 pm, Afsar Ali and his friend Tohibul were going on foot to a dhaba for lunch, when there was a minor collision with a car. On this, three boys came out of the car and started beating Afsar badly with sticks. While Afsar was being killed, his friend Tohibul somehow ran away to save his life. When Afsar became unconscious, all three left him there and went away in the car. After some time, Afsar’s friend Tohibul came back there and took Afsar to hospital in an auto. There he was declared brought dead. Police registered a case against the accused under Section 302/34 of the IPC.
The police reached the spot and kept the body in the hospital mortuary. The car is registered in Haryana, through which the accused are being identified and their location is being searched. The entire incident is also captured in the CCTV camera installed in a nearby shop, the video of which is going viral on social media.
ASP Dilip Saini said the incident took place in Ghatal village of Phulbagh police station area of Bhiwadi. Afsar Ali (24), resident of Samastipur, Bihar, lived with his friend Tohibul Ansari (25) in a rented room in Labor Colony in Ghatal for eight years. Earlier he used to do tailoring in a company here. Just six months ago, both of them had opened a tailoring shop in partnership.
Police have arrested one accused while two are still absconding. Additional SP Dilip Saini said, “Prima facie this incident happened due to sudden provocation. We have detained an accused named Ashish Pal Gurjar. Two other accused and the car used in the incident are being searched. The matter is being fully investigated.”
