New Delhi, Mar. 5: Sahyog Urban Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. was launched on Sunday to provide financial inclusion services, including savings and loans to under-served groups like low-income people and working women without any discrimination of gender, caste or creed.
Shamshu Zuha, Chairman of Sahyog, said, “The services of Sahyog are based on equality and justice to ensure mutual social and economic development of the people living in Delhi. The activities of the cooperation are based on interest-free principles which will ensure that there is healthy competition and the services are not exploited.”
He also said he and his team would work honestly and leave no stone unturned to provide help for the needy and marginalized.
The purpose of establishment of Sahyog is to develop the habit of saving among the members and protect their savings, to facilitate financial needs of members and meet the conditions of participation, provide, loan/finance for basic needs, purchase household and business equipment, and business activities, conduct such activities which are under the bye-laws of the society and its respective State Cooperative Societies Act and which realize the collective development of the members.
The Vision of Sahyog is to ensure social and economic upliftment of the residents of Delhi, to provide financial facilities based on equality and justice and financial services at affordable prices and to facilitate and provide services to 5000 members by the end of 2026.
Former Union Minister Salman Khurshid, Ex-MP Mohd Adeeb, Noted scholar Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, Jaishankar Gupta, member Press Council of India; Gautam Lahiri, president of Press Club of India, social activist Faisal Khan, Tahseen Ahmed of Socialist Party (India) and M.D Thomas, founder of Institute of Harmony and Peace, Usama Khan, CEO of Sahulat addressed the gathering while extending support for the good cause initiated by Sahyog.
