Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb on display as Khaatu Shyam Yatra stopped for Juma namaz, Muslims shower flowers on pilgrims

Jaipur, March 17: Jaipur witnessed a wonderful sight during the first Juma namaz of Ramadan. The Rajasthanis presented their Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb by respecting each other’s religious beliefs. The city displayed communal amity when the Khaatu Shyam Yatra stopped during the Juma namaz and the DJ, drums and cymbals were turned off. After the namaz, the Muslims also showed bonhomie and showered flowers on the pilgrims of Khaatu Shyamji.

When on the first Juma of Ramadan, the time for Juma namaz came at the Jama Masjid located in Johari Bazar, the Shobha Yatra was stopped by the devotees and the DJ was also turned off by them, maintaining the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb.

After the namaz was over, when the Shobha Yatra started again, BJP Minority Morcha state president Hamid Khan Mewati and former state president M. Sadiq Khan along with hundreds of workers and people of Muslim society greeted the Shobha Yatra by showering rose petals. On this occasion, people from both communities happily hugged each other and congratulated each other.

The people of Muslim community welcomed the Khaatushyam padyatra, which was being taken out with DJ and drums, by showering flowers.

The incident is a heartwarming example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb, which is the syncretic culture of India. It shows how people of different religions can live together in harmony and respect each other’s beliefs.
