The Israeli military’s raid on Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City – formerly the largest medical complex in the area – has entered its fourth day. Al Shifa Hospital has been sheltering displaced Palestinians, many of whom have been killed or have faced long detentions and abuse in the current onslaught. Disturbing images have emerged on social media of bound Palestinian prisoners on Israeli trucks being taken out of the hospital complex.
Yet again, in the early hours of the morning of 21st March – around 3 am local time in Gaza – Israeli soldiers ordered the families and patients sheltering in the hospital to evacuate immediately, failing which the army will bomb the building. This is a developing story with various social media reports of direct attacks and executions of sheltering Palestinians in the hospital complex.
Euro-Med Monitor’s field researchers have also documented what they call harrowing scenes within the hospital complex, with a more detailed statement expected to be released later today. This comes as part of a continued onslaught at the hospital which included Israeli forces arresting Al Jazeera’s entire crew documenting the attacks and destroying all of their broadcasting vehicles.
