Panaji, April 4: In a celebration of poetry and communal harmony, a Kavi Sammelan was organized alongside an Iftar Get-Together by Konkani Shanti Publications (KSP) at CSPH Hall, located opposite Law College in Miramar, here Wednesday. Mr. Samiullah Belwadi, President of KSP emphasized the significance of such gatherings in his inaugural speech stating that the event aimed to foster unity and understanding among diverse communities through the shared love for poetry and breaking bread together during the holy month of Ramadan.
The air was charged with creativity and enthusiasm as poets from various corners of Goa gathered under one roof for an evening of multilingual poetic fervor. Participants presented poems on diverse themes. Maulana Fahad, Gauri Kulkarni, Chitra Shirsagar, Motilal Pednekar, Asif Hussain, Nutan Dabolkar, Soniya Shah, Udhav Pole, Sunita Pednekar, Sureka Dessai, Gurudas Redkar, Pramod Karapurkar, Anna Teresa, Uday Deshprabhu, Vinda Naik and Avinash Jadhav presented their poems. To honor the significance of Ramadan, verses from the Holy Quran, which are revealed by Almighty in poetic Arabic, were recited during the program.
The Iftar Get-Together added a special touch to the event, allowing participants to break their fast together in a spirit of friendship and generosity. The Kavi Sammelan with Iftar Get-Together expressed the essence of unity, diversity, and cultural exchange.
