Coimbatore, April 6: State Food and Civil Supplies Minister R Sakkarapani, accompanied by DMK functionaries, visited the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Tamil Nadu office in Karumbukkadai today to garner support for DMK front candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
During the visit, Minister Sakkarapani appealed to JIH executives to endorse the DMK candidates contesting from Coimbatore and Pollachi constituencies. The visit commenced with a traditional welcome, as JIH president PS Umar Farook presented the minister with a shawl and highlighted the pressing needs of Karumbukkadai residents through a memorandum.
In a gesture of cooperation, the JIH president also handed over the Election Manifesto of JIH to Minister Sakkarapani, expressing assurance of support for the I.N.D.I.A front candidates in their electoral endeavors.
Notable attendees at the meeting included JIH secretary M S Shabbir Ali, Public Relations Secretary Abdul Hakkim, Ward 95 DMK councillor SA Kader, SIO district president Sheik Athib Abdullah, Solidarity Youth wing district secretary Sinuj, and DMK executives Kurichi Prabhakaran and ex-MLA secretary Jayanthi.
Minister Sakkarapani lauded the community-centric initiatives undertaken by JIH and pledged governmental assistance towards their ongoing projects. He also assured JIH executives that he would personally address the grievances of the Karumbukkadai residents with the Chief Minister.
The engagement was marked by discussions on vital community issues and collaborative efforts towards ensuring representation and progress for the region.
