Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in a video Eid al-Fitr message to Indian Muslims has said,” If Muslims are able to imbibe all objectives of the month of Ramadan with utmost patience then surely this Ummah will become undefeatable and ultimately the most influential group.”
JIH president further said, “The spirit of the month of Ramadan and the guidance of the Quran should inculcate within us to lead a controlled life. Even in the difficult times we are in, our focus should be on the opportunities provided to us by Allah under such circumstances. Focus should also be on the objectives of life. Towards the end of Ramadan, we should introspect as to what extent we have been able to follow the objectives of Ramadan. If we are able to imbibe all objectives and aspects of the month of Ramadan with utmost patience then surely this ummah will become undefeatable and ultimately the most influential group.”
While cautioning on a reactive approach, JIH Ameer said, “Instead of reacting on each and every issue, indulging in blame game, spreading disillusionment and disenchantment, we should try to understand the big picture in a wholesome way. Allah creates difficult times to change and transform the Ummah and therefore we should not be disheartened. If we follow the objectives of Ramadan and continue with training of the month of Ramadan then surely Allah will guide us to come out of this prevailing situation in a very strong manner.”
JIH Ameer added, “We are celebrating Eid al-Fitr in such prevailing atmosphere when there is general election mood in the entire country and people will go through with electing government. As a benevolent Ummah, it is our responsibility to work towards peace and justice. As a citizen, it is our responsibility to cast vote and we should try to use every opportunity to provide peace and justice to the people and the Ummah.”
On the election mood at the time of Eid celebration, he said, “We should rise above partisan and narrow interest and elect candidates with good moral character to ensure value-based polity. This Eid has come at a time when Muslims of India and the entire world particularly Palestinians are having very difficult times. Struggle and sacrifice of Palestinians will continue to inspire generations to come. It has exposed the hypocrisy and the double standard of the world power.”
