Muslim Society Organizes 19th Mass Marriage Event

Baran, Rajasthan, April 22: On Sunday, the Ijtimai Shaadi Committee Panchayat Ansarian Badi Hathai Sansthan in Mangrol town of Baran district hosted its 19th mass marriage function, uniting 38 couples in wedlock. The event started at 9 am, attracting couples from various towns including Baran, Pandola, Sheopur, Sui, Anta, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Khatoli, Karwad, and Etawah.

Mohammad Ilyas, spokesperson for the Committee, highlighted the importance of such gatherings, emphasizing their value in reducing unnecessary expenses associated with weddings, especially for economically disadvantaged families. Participants hailed from diverse communities within the Muslim society.

The ceremonies commenced early in the morning with Nikah proceedings while simultaneous arrangements were made for food and farewells for the newlyweds. Most couples from outside Mangrol left the venue by afternoon.

The program was attended by notable figures, including Baran Pradhan Morpal Suman, Baran Municipal Council Chairman Kamal Rathore, BJP Mandal President Piyush Vijay, Mangrol Municipality President Kaushal Suman, former President Amit Chopra, and Congress City President Dr. Seema, among others.

This annual event, organized by Panchayat Ansariyan Badi Hathai Sansthan Mangrol, saw extensive preparations led by committee members, including Abdul Ghafoor Lodi, Sadar Mohammad Sadiq Kanungo, and General Secretary Master Rafiq Ahmed Ansari. The committee ensured that each couple received essential items as gifts, including household goods and traditional attire.

Efforts were made to secure financial assistance for the couples from the State Government’s Women and Child Development Department, offering a grant of Rs.21,000, with additional support for girls from BPL and widowed families. The registration fee for marriage was set at Rs.26,500 for both groom and bride.

The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and guests, reaffirming their commitment to fostering communal harmony and supporting economically marginalized families through such initiatives. The event served as a testament to the community’s dedication to promoting social cohesion and responsible wedding practices.
