Rajasthan Congress Alleges Inaction by Election Commission on 21 Complaints Against BJP Leaders

– Raheem Khan

Jaipur April 28: Voting for all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan has concluded after two phases held on April 19 and 26. Throughout the campaigning period, both the BJP and Congress engaged in intense verbal sparring, resulting in a flurry of complaints lodged with the Election Commission.

State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara revealed that his party submitted a total of 21 complaints against BJP leaders and officials to the Election Commission. These complaints targeted various figures, including state ministers, officials, and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dotasara took to social media to express his frustration, claiming that none of the 21 complaints had received any notice or action from the Election Commission. He accused the Commission of negligence, questioning whether they were asleep or had forsaken their responsibilities.

Among the complaints listed by Dotasara were allegations against the State Sports Council for distributing free passes to IPL matches, a state government minister for providing IPL passes to sanitation workers, and a former MP for purportedly threatening government employees.

Additionally, complaints were lodged against various BJP leaders for making inflammatory statements during their campaigns, including remarks about religious fanaticism, electoral consequences for not supporting PM Modi, and accusations of Congress appeasement towards certain religious groups.

The list also included grievances about alleged instances of paid news, misuse of religious places for campaigning, and violations of the Model Code of Conduct by government officials.

Despite the comprehensive list of complaints presented by the Congress, they claim that the Election Commission has failed to take any action, leaving them disillusioned with the electoral process.

The BJP has yet to respond to these allegations, leaving the matter open to further scrutiny as the results of the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan await.
