Students Delegation Presents Manifesto to Delhi Cabinet Minister

1 May 2024: A delegation led by Imrul Quesh, President of SIO Delhi, submitted a comprehensive students manifesto for the upcoming 2024 General Elections. The manifesto, addressing critical issues concerning Delhi and the nation, was presented to Imran Hussain, a Cabinet Minister of the Delhi government, and Jai Prakash Agarwal, an MP Candidate for Chandni Chowk, Delhi, at Nabi Karim, Delhi.

Highlighting the key points of SIO’s students manifesto, Imrul said the manifesto includes demands for equitable reservation, special attention to marginalized districts, enactment of the Rohit Act for student safety, increased scholarships for minorities, implementation of anti-discrimination law, data protection measures, privacy safeguards, funding for environmental sustainability, establishment of nationwide youth health and wellness centers, provision of free education from elementary to university level, and employment guarantees for youth.

Imrul emphasized that the manifesto reflects the aspirations and concerns of the student community regarding crucial societal issues. By presenting it to government representatives, SIO aims to influence policy decisions and contribute to building a more equitable India.

Both Imran Hussain and Jai Prakash Agarwal expressed their commitment to thoroughly reviewing the document. They assured the delegation that they would prioritize addressing the concerns outlined in the manifesto.

Both officials underscored the importance of addressing issues affecting the student community and acknowledged the significance of their input in shaping policies for the betterment of India.
