Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Denies Involvement in Doctored Video Controversy Involving Amit Shah

2 May 2024: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s legal representative presented his defense before the Delhi Police, asserting that the Congress leader had no role in the creation or dissemination of a doctored video featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Mr. Reddy, summoned by the police in connection with the alleged posting of the video on social media platform X, vehemently denied any involvement during a rally in Telangana. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of harboring a vindictive agenda against him for challenging the BJP’s stance on reservation policies.

According to police sources, efforts are underway to identify the originator of the deepfake video. However, before contacting the suspect, authorities must first verify the individual responsible for uploading or sharing the video.

The controversy surrounding the manipulated video underscores the escalating tensions between political factions, with allegations of misinformation and smear campaigns becoming increasingly prevalent in the digital age. As investigations continue, the veracity of online content and the implications of its dissemination remain subjects of critical scrutiny in the realm of contemporary politics.
