A Drone Strikes Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Residence

– Yusra Firdaus

A drone launched from Lebanon exploded near Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea, located in southern Haifa, on Saturday, said multiple reports citing Reuters. A spokesperson for the Prime Minister said Netanyahu and his wife were not present at the time.

Two additional drones, also launched from Lebanon, were intercepted by Israeli air defences, setting off sirens in Tel Aviv. However, another drone hit a building in Caesarea, causing a loud explosion. Part of the building was reportedly damaged, but no casualties were reported.

The attack follows the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza. Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces after a year-long pursuit. Israel also released a video showing Sinwar, severely injured, throwing a stick toward an Israeli drone before being killed.

Hamas has vowed to continue fighting. Sinwar’s deputy, Khalil al-Hayya, stated that Hamas would emerge stronger despite the loss of its leader.
