A Muslim family attacked over money transaction, 1 Killed, 3 injured

Sirohi (Rajasthan), March 27: In a village in Rajasthan, a family was attacked over a money transaction. One person was killed and three were injured.

The incident took place on Monday evening in Naya Sanwara village of Pindwara police station area in Sirohi district. According to the police, a family living behind the village school had borrowed some money on interest three years ago.

On Monday, at around 4 pm, some people came to the house with swords, sticks, and batons to demand the outstanding amount. They attacked the people present in the house, including Kalu Khan (65), Hussain Khan (62) s/o Rahmat Khan, Rashid Khan s/o Kaju Khan, and one other.

All four people were seriously injured and taken to the Sirohi government hospital’s trauma center for treatment.

Doctors declared Hussain Khan dead.

Rashid Khan and one other were referred to a higher hospital in Palanpur, Gujarat, after primary treatment. Kalu Khan is still undergoing treatment at the Sirohi hospital.

A large number of relatives of the injured and deceased, as well as people from the Muslim community, reached the Sirohi hospital after hearing about the attack. The Sirohi DSP, Kotwali police, and Sadar police force arrived and took control of the situation. The Sirohi SP and ASP also visited the crime scene and Pindwara police station.

Heavy police force has been deployed in the area. The victims are demanding arrest of the accused and compensation. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

AIMIM and Bhim Army leaders have condemned the attack and demanded action from the government.

AIMIM Rajasthan state general secretary Kashif Zuberi wrote on social media: “Sirohi police should take immediate action and arrest the accused.”

AIMIM Rajasthan State President demanded: “Sirohi police should take cognizance of the matter and arrest the accused as soon as possible.”

Bhim Army Sirohi Ex-District President Hiralal Motigar said: “Bhim Army demands from the government that the Pindwara police had been given a complaint two days ago, but due to the negligence of the police, the victim’s family had to lose their lives. Strict action should be taken against the concerned police station. Our demand is that the victim’s family should be given a government job and proper compensation. The culprits should be arrested. Until the Rajasthan government does not accept the demands, a dharna will be held at the hospital.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan State President Mohammad Nazimuddin said no one has the right to enter a house like this and fight and take the law into their hands. Whoever is guilty should be arrested as soon as possible and given the harshest punishment. He said criminals should have fear of law.
