AAP Demands Action After Threatening Graffiti Against Arvind Kejriwal Surfaces

New Delhi, May 21: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take immediate action following the appearance of threatening graffiti targeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The graffiti, found at the Delhi Metro’s Rajiv Chowk and Patel Nagar stations, has escalated tensions between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

In a letter to the ECI, AAP MLAs expressed grave concerns over the messages that explicitly threatened Kejriwal’s life and implicated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting involvement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in plotting an attack on the Delhi Chief Minister.

The incident coincides with the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections and a heated political confrontation between AAP and BJP over the Swati Maliwal assault case. Kejriwal’s close aide, Bibhav Kumar, has been arrested in connection with the case, which AAP claims is part of a broader conspiracy orchestrated by the BJP.

The complaint highlights social media posts by an Instagram user, Ankit(dot)Goel_91, who allegedly defaced a Delhi Metro coach with threatening messages aimed at Kejriwal. Similar graffiti was also found at Patel Nagar Metro Station, containing abusive language against the Chief Minister.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of planning a deadly attack on Kejriwal, stating, “The BJP has been in a state of panic ever since Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail. The BJP is now plotting to launch a deadly attack on Arvind Kejriwal. This conspiracy is being directed from the Prime Minister’s Office.”

The AAP’s appeal underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures for Kejriwal, with the party holding Prime Minister Modi directly responsible for any potential harm to the Delhi Chief Minister.

As the political rivalry intensifies, the ECI’s response to AAP’s concerns will be closely monitored, potentially influencing the broader dynamics of the ongoing election season.
