New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticised BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the Delhi Assembly elections, dismissing it as yet another “Jumla Patra.” Taking aim at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, AAP leaders claimed the BJP has already conceded defeat in the upcoming polls.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed his views on X: “Today, Amit Shah visited Delhi and left after hurling abuses at me. Will abusing me lead to Delhi’s development? They have no plan or vision for the city. If nothing else, they could have at least copied the initiatives we’ve already implemented. The BJP has surrendered in Delhi – their election is over.”
Regarding BJP’s promise to grant ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies, Kejriwal questioned its credibility: “Didn’t the Prime Minister make the same promise in 2015 and 2020? Repeating old promises is blatant dishonesty. How can such falsehoods be presented without hesitation in every election?”
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia also dismissed the BJP manifesto, calling it a “jumla patra.” He criticised Amit Shah’s press conference, stating: “The language, tone, and promises reveal that the BJP has already accepted its defeat in Delhi. If they were serious contenders, Amit Shah would have presented a comprehensive vision for the city. Instead, they are recycling old promises.”
Highlighting Shah’s pledge to create 50,000 jobs, Sisodia remarked: “Delhi’s population is 2.5 crore, and you promise only 50,000 jobs? What about the rest? This shows a complete lack of planning and vision.”
Sisodia accused Shah of making promises on issues where the BJP has historically failed.
Sisodia further said, “For 20 years, BJP leaders have been at the forefront of sealing shops, snatching livelihoods. When AAP opposed it, no one listened. Now, they promise to remove sealing – something we are already working on. Amit Shah claimed they will provide insurance for lawyers, but he seems unaware that the Kejriwal government has already implemented this. Shah promised to introduce e-buses to Delhi, but Delhi is already the global leader in e-buses. We have the largest fleet in the world. What’s new in this promise?”
