AAP Workers Protest Across Delhi Over BJP’s ₹2,500 Promise to Women

– Abdul Bari Masoud
New Delhi: AAP workers staged protests across Delhi on Wednesday as the March 8 deadline neared for PM Modi’s election promise of ₹2,500 per month for women. MLA Prem Chauhan and ex-MLA Rituraj Jha joined the protest, displaying “Bas 3 Din Aur” banners on key flyovers.
Jha, who monitors BJP’s promises, said “Modi’s Guarantees” often turn into “jumlas.” He recalled Modi’s January 30 Dwarka rally, where he pledged to approve the scheme in his first Cabinet meeting and deposit ₹2,500 into women’s accounts on March 8.
“In every street, women are asking Modi ji, with just three days left, where is our ₹2,500?” he said. AAP supporters displayed banners on flyovers and footbridges, questioning the BJP.
A day earlier, Atishi, ex-CM and LoP, led a women’s protest at Mandi House, holding placards reading “Bas char din aur.”
She urged CM Rekha Gupta to ensure Modi’s second guarantee is fulfilled, unlike the ₹15 lakh promise. She warned that with just four days left, AAP would keep fighting until Delhi’s women received their rightful ₹2,500.
