Aligarh: The Annual Hall Function of Hadi Hasan Hall, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), held recently was a grand celebration of academic excellence, personality development, and the enduring value system that defines AMU. The event was presided over by Prof. Mohd Gulrez, Former Vice Chancellor of AMU, who lauded the achievements of the Hall residents and urged students to maintain the high academic and moral standards that AMU is known for.
Prof. Gulrez encouraged the students to engage actively in extracurricular and co-curricular pursuits that contribute to their holistic growth. Highlighting the noble responsibilities of future medical professionals, he emphasised the importance of compassionate service, especially towards the underprivileged sections of society.
Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, the Guest of Honour, applauded the efforts of the Hall administration and students, assuring continued institutional support to improve residential life and academic environment.
Special Guests, Prof. M. Waseem Ali, Proctor, and Prof. Rafiuddin, Dean of Students’ Welfare, appreciated the students’ collective spirit and resilience. They acknowledged the efforts made to promote a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere in the Hall.
The evening commenced with a welcome address by Prof. M. Athar Ansari, Provost of Hadi Hasan Hall. He highlighted the Hall’s recent achievements and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and support staff who contribute to maintaining the Hall’s tradition of excellence.
Dr. Mohd Imran, Senior Food Monitor presented the Annual Report highlighting residents’ academic performances, victories in university competitions, and successful execution of cultural and sports events. He also thanked the administration for the installation of air conditioners in the reading room.
Hall post holders were presented mementos for their key role in maintaining discipline and organising various activities. Dr. Altamash Ahmad delivered the vote of thanks, while Dr. Ehtesham Ahmad Hamdi invited all to other functions.
The programme was conducted by Shahan Usmani and Hamza Khan. Wardens, including Prof. S. M. Abbas Waseem and others, along with hall staff, were acknowledged for their support. The function concluded with a reaffirmation of AMU’s mission to promote academic brilliance and value-based education.
