To keep pace with technological advancement and enhance teaching skills, Alliance for Economic and Educational Development of the Underprivileged (AEEDU), in collaboration with UGC HRDC, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a week-long online Capacity-Building Program on Communication Skills, AI and Machine Learning for School and Madrasa Teachers during 4-9 March.
More than 60 candidates participated in the program which was divided into 16 sessions. The training course was coordinated by Prof. Sajid Jamal, Department of Education, AMU.
Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director of UGC HRDC emphasized on positive impact of capacity-building programs on educators, ultimately enhancing the quality of education. Syed Mahmood Akhter, CEO, AEEDU, spoke on the pivotal role of effective communication in shaping an individual’s personality, particularly among teachers, and expressed optimism that the program would serve as a milestone for all participants.
The first session was led by esteemed academician Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director of the K.A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, who delved into the topic of communication skills. Through multiple real-life examples, he illustrated the nuances of effective communication.
Dr. Anjum Ahmed conducted three sessions focusing on communication etiquette, utilizing Google Forms, and enhancing presentation skills. Prof. Aasim Zafar discussed the creation and operation of Google Classroom in teaching during his session. Dr. Mohammad Nadeem elaborated on AI tools in teaching and learning, as well as delving into machine learning concepts.
Dr. Noora Abdul Kader explored various facets of social media and communication, alongside sessions on developing communication skills and utilizing AI tools in communication. Dr. Faisal Anwar provided a comprehensive session on assessment tools. Dr. Mohd. Shakir covered topics such as presentation skills, effective communication for classroom management, and the transition from traditional to virtual classroom environments.
Dr. Nusaiba Anzar addressed the integration of digital tools in teaching and learning, while Dr. Saleha focused on imparting soft skills tailored for teachers. The virtual event was graced by Prof. M. M. Sufyan Beg as the chief guest, alongside Syed Mahmood Akhter, CEO, AEEDU, Prof. Asiya Chaudhary, Department of Commerce, and Dr. Raihan Akhter, Department of Sunni Theology, who participated as guests of honor.
