AIMDC Announces Final List of 40 Under 40 Muslim Leaders in India

New Delhi: The All India Muslim Development Council (AIMDC) has unveiled the final list of “40 Under 40 Leaders”, a pioneering initiative aimed at identifying, nurturing, and empowering young Muslim leaders who can play a transformative role in the community and the nation.
The selection process, which began a year ago, involved multiple stages of assessment — from application reviews to in-depth interviews and group discussions. Out of nearly 950 applications received from across India, only 40 candidates made it to the final list.
Applicants came from diverse sectors such as education, politics, corporate leadership, medicine, journalism, research, Shariah scholarship, law, activism, and entrepreneurship. Initially, 215 candidates were shortlisted, which was then narrowed to 112 after interviews. Later, 105 were invited to a four-day evaluation camp in Bengaluru where their leadership, teamwork, sincerity, and commitment to community service were assessed.
Seventy participants were recognized at this stage with Certificates of Leadership. However, AIMDC conducted a “silent evaluation” to test their consistency, discipline, akhlaaq (character), and sincerity in ongoing projects, which ultimately determined the final 40.
The final list of leaders includes emerging voices from across the country, representing fields like education, law, politics, economics, journalism, activism, and Shariah studies. AIMDC stated that these leaders will now form the National Executive of the 40 Under 40 Initiative, serving as the strategic force to implement projects and drive positive change.
The remaining 30 from the shortlisted 70 will continue as members of the National 40u40 Team, supporting projects and grassroots initiatives nationwide.
“This initiative is not just about recognition — it is about creating a movement for change,” said Mohammed Imthiyaz, General Secretary of AIMDC. “The selected leaders represent the intellectual, moral, and strategic capacity to strengthen both the Muslim community and the nation.”
Participants also shared their experiences, highlighting the brotherhood, mentorship, and purpose-driven network that emerged during the process.
The All India Muslim Development Council works towards building leadership grounded in integrity, unity, and excellence. With the 40 Under 40 Leaders Initiative, AIMDC envisions preparing a generation of changemakers capable of navigating modern challenges while upholding moral and social responsibility.
