AIMIM Leader Jaleel Calls for UAPA Against Beed Mosque Blast Culprits

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Former MP and AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel has demanded that the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) be invoked against two individuals arrested for allegedly planting gelatin sticks and triggering a blast inside a mosque in Maharashtra’s Beed district.
The explosion occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 30, 2025, at a mosque in Ardha Masla village, Georai tehsil, ahead of Gudi Padwa and Ramzan Eid celebrations. While no injuries were reported, the mosque sustained internal damage due to the blast.
Jaleel emphasized the need for stringent action to prevent such incidents from recurring. “If our religious place is damaged using an explosive, the UAPA is not implemented,” he stated, questioning the selective application of the anti-terror law.
The demand for invoking UAPA comes amid growing concerns over communal tensions and the need for swift justice in cases of attacks on religious places. The authorities are currently investigating the motives behind the attack.
