AIMPLB to Set Up Waqf Help Desks Across India for Property Registration

New Delhi: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced the launch of Waqf Help Desks across all states and major cities to support the registration of Waqf properties on the government’s UMEED portal. The initiative aims to assist individuals and trustees, known as mutawallis, in uploading property documents efficiently.

The decision was made at a recent AIMPLB meeting chaired by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani. The Board said the move comes in response to widespread complaints from Waqf administrators about technical challenges and slow upload speeds on the UMEED portal. In some cases, users reported that a single document took nearly 45 minutes to upload.

Many trustees have also struggled with digital processes due to limited access to technology and lack of training. The new help desks will provide guidance and logistical support to ensure that properties are properly recorded and protected.

AIMPLB members said that digitization is important to prevent encroachment and loss of Waqf assets. They added that the help desks will ensure transparency, accuracy, and timely documentation in line with national requirements.

The Board urged community organizations and regional Waqf boards to coordinate with these centers to complete the registration process. It said the move would strengthen accountability and safeguard the community’s endowment properties across India.
