AIMWA Holds Conf. on ‘Role of Women in Development of Muslim Community’ on Jan. 21 in Hyderabad

The All India Muslim Women’s Association (AIMWA) is organising a women’s conference titled “The Role of Women in the Protection, Progress, and Development of the Community” at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on January 21.

The AIMWA, in a statement, said women make up 50% of the nation’s population, and their education, training, empowerment, and progress are vital for ensuring the preservation, stability, and advancement of the community. It emphasised that in today’s world, the role of women has become increasingly critical as they face growing challenges related to identity, protection, and development.

Asma Nadeem, the conference convener, highlighted the importance of women’s education, religious training, and Islamic awareness, stressing that women not only bear the responsibility for their own growth and upbringing but also play a crucial role in instilling religious values and nurturing future generations. Their capabilities and awareness are instrumental in shaping a progressive and thriving society.

Distinguished personalities who will address the conference include Maulana Obaidullah Azmi, vice president of AIMPLB and former MP; Mohammad Adeeb, president of Indian Muslims for Civil Rights and former MP; Maulana Arif Kaleem Madni, educator and Principal of Jamia Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat; Mushtaq Malik, president of Tehreek Muslim Shaban and Human Rights activist; Asma Shah, former Principal of Indian School, Riyadh; Yasmeen Farooqi, general secretary of Women India Movement, Jaipur; Mohsina Akbani, Quran teacher and founder member of Taqwa Institute, Nagpur; Zeenat Mehtab, member AIMWA and social activist and reformer; Dr. Rabia Mulla, educationist, Kolhapur, Maharashtra; Shadab Qamar, former Principal of Government School, Ghaziabad; Dr. Asma Zehra, president of AIMWA; Shamim Fatima, president of AIMWA, Telangana; Tanhiyat Ather, vice-president of AIMWA, Telangana.

Asma Nadeem and Rabia Tabassum, (Convener and Joint Convener of the Women’s Conference respectively, have urged responsible women from Telangana and neighbouring states, particularly female students, to participate actively in this conference. This will provide them with awareness about the challenges ahead, their roles and responsibilities, and potential solutions to the issues facing the community.
