The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has announced the suspension of Hailakandi MLA Zakir Hussain Laskar from the party’s primary membership for a period of six years, citing alleged anti-party conduct.
The decision was made by the party’s executive committee. The suspension was ordered in a letter signed by Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi, the Administrative General Secretary and leader of the AIUDF Legislative Party.
The letter was officially dispatched to MLA Zakir Hussain Laskar to inform him of the decision. In a press release distributed to various media outlets, General Secretary Siddique Ali Thakuri affirmed that the suspension was done in accordance with Articles XIV(i)(d) and XVIII(A)(iii) of the party’s constitution.
The party has termed this action as a disciplinary measure in response to the MLA’s actions, which were considered harmful to its interests.
