New Delhi: A delegation from the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) led by Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, met with the Union Minister of AYUSH, Mr. Pratap Rao Jadhav, at his residence here Saturday. The delegation, comprising Dr. Anas Ansari from Maharashtra, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Meeruti, Hakim Aftab Alam, Dr. Mirza Asif Baig, and Mohammad Imran Qanooji from Delhi, submitted a copy of the letter previously addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The letter highlighted the contributions of renowned freedom fighter and Unani medicine pioneer, Hakim Ajmal Khan, while emphasizing the importance of the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbiya College in Karol Bagh. The delegation urged that, in recognition of Hakim Ajmal Khan’s legacy and services, the Tibbiya College be upgraded to a National Unani University.
During the meeting, the delegation also expressed gratitude to the minister for his party’s efforts in establishing Maharashtra’s first government-run Unani medical college, lauding his commitment to supporting Unani medicine. The minister listened attentively and assured the delegation of his commitment to pursuing the matter.
