AIUTC Maharashtra Pledged to Organize Medical Camps, Blood Donation Drives during Rabi al-Awwal

Mumbai, Sep 10: A grand event was organized at Anjuman Islam Gymkhana here today, to welcome all committee members and district presidents of the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Maharashtra. The presidents from all districts of Maharashtra and the members of the Maharashtra unit participated in the meeting. The session was presided over by Professor Mushtaq Muqaddam, President of the Maharashtra unit of AIUTC. Chief guest Adv. Yusuf Abrahani was present at the event, while the program was inaugurated by the renowned leader Abu Asim Azmi. In his speech, Abu Asim Azmi spoke about the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and promised to continue raising his voice for the promotion of Unani medicine.

Professor Zaheer Qazi, a special guest and patron of the AIUTC, praised all the members of the Congress and urged them to continue working for the welfare of the nation, highlighting the virtues of Islam.

Adv. Yusuf Abrahani emphasized the importance of doing more charitable work during this blessed month of Rabi al-Awwal. He encouraged the distribution of free medicines for a day and spreading the qualities of the Prophet ﷺ to patients, especially non-Muslim brothers, to help reduce the atmosphere of hatred in the country and promote love and unity.

In this event, the national vice president of AIUTC, Dr. S.M. Hussain, introduced the organization. The convener of the organization, Dr. Nadeem Usmani, shed light on the organization’s achievements, stating that due to their efforts, recruitment began in Maharashtra under NHM (National Health Mission). A government resolution (GR) was passed, granting 10% reservation for Unani doctors in government departments. Job opportunities were introduced in 108 Ambulance services, Tata Hospital, and ESIS Hospital, and the state approved the first government Unani college.

The president of the organization, Dr. Mushtaq Muqaddam, elaborated on the efforts made to obtain approval for the government college and discussed future plans of the AIUTC. Notable guests, including Dr. Abid Syed, Qasim Imam, Aamir Idrisi, and Zeba Malik, also spoke and suggested holding more charitable events, particularly blood donation drives, during this blessed month of Rabi al-Awwal.

The event was attended by the National Secretary of the AIUTC, Dr. S.M. Yaqoob, State Working President Dr. Anas Farooqi, General Secretary Dr. Afzal Sheikh, Organizing Secretary Dr. Ikhlaq Usmani, Senior Vice President Dr. Niyaz Azmi, Dr. Khalid Niazi, Dr. Zahid Khan, Women’s Wing President Dr. Shakeela Ansari, Joint Secretary Dr. Naseem Sheikh, Dr. Anas Ansari, along with district presidents and their colleagues. The program was hosted by Dr. Qaiser Khan and Dr. Nusrat Chauhan. The All India Unani Tibbi Congress requested all district presidents to organize more medical camps and blood donation drives during the month of Rabi al-Awwal.
