AIUTC Organises 149th Free Unani Medical Camp in Tittarwada, MP Iqra Hasan Attends

Kairana: The 149th free Unani medical camp was organised by the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) at Tittarwada in Kairana, Uttar Pradesh, where hundreds of patients received medical consultation and treatment. Most of the patients were found suffering from stomach and liver ailments, joint pain, diabetes, blood pressure and metabolic disorders.

Among those who attended the camp were Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi from Delhi, Dr Ilyas Mazhar Husain, Hakim Mohammad Murtaza Dehlavi, Zeeshan Qazi, and the Secretary General of AIUTC, Dr Syed Ahmad Khan. The programme was convened by Dr Syed Yasir and Zeeshan Pradhan, who, along with their associates, managed the arrangements successfully.

At the conclusion of the camp, several individuals were honoured in recognition of their services. Speaking as the chief guest, Iqra Hasan, Member of Parliament from Kairana, said that the centuries-tested Unani system of medicine remains a guarantee for good health in the modern age. She noted that lifestyle changes have led to a rise in diseases compared to earlier times, while adulteration in food items and consumption of cold drinks are also adversely affecting public health.

She further stated that the world is gradually returning to indigenous systems of medicine such as Ayurveda and Unani for better healthcare. She also stressed the need to recognise the contributions of Hakim Ajmal Khan and accord him the honour and status he deserves in the country.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Syed Ahmad Khan reiterated the organisation’s long-standing demands and said that renowned freedom fighter Hakim Ajmal Khan has been largely neglected by the nation despite his immense contributions. He described him as not only an eminent physician but also a remarkable leader of his time, who founded institutions such as Jamia Millia Islamia and the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College. He also established shelters and schools for underprivileged children and devoted his life to public service. Dr Khan expressed regret that Hakim Ajmal Khan has still not been conferred with the Bharat Ratna.

Volunteers including Master Mohan Pradhan, Dr Ikram Pradhan, Mohsin Pradhan, Dilshad Pradhan, Haroon Pradhan, Chaudhary Munawwar, Feroz Khan, Syed Shahid Ali, Hafiz Haroon, Mursaleen and Dr Ishrat contributed towards making the camp successful. Dr Syed Yasir delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
