Unani Medicine is Popular and People’s Preferred Method of Treatment: Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan
Moradabad: The All India Unani Tibbi Congress (Delhi) and the National Social Organisation organised a free Unani medical camp at White House, located on Gujarati Street here. Over 300 patients were examined at the camp and medicines were distributed.
Medicines were provided by Dehlvi Naturals, Sadar Dawakhana, Rex Remedies, and Sky Herbal Remedies. Key contributors to the success of the camp included Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan (Secretary General, All India Unani Tibbi Congress), Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Dr. Ghiyasuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Faheem Malik, Dr. Sabahatullah, social activist Advocate Ms. Shaan Jabeen Qazi, Dr. Zeeshan Ansari, Hakim Mohammad Murtaza Dehlvi, Hakim Aftab Alam, Hakim Mohammad Muzammil Hussain, and Mohammad Imran Qanauji.
In the inauguration ceremony of the camp, prominent journalist Masoom Moradabadi participated as the chief guest, and the session was presided over by the city’s religious figure, Imam Syed Masoom Ali Azad. Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, Secretary General of AIUTC, attended as a Guest of Honour. Highlighting the purpose of the camp, he stated that Unani medicine has been practised for centuries and remains a favoured treatment method among the people. He expressed satisfaction that the All India Unani Tibbi Congress, through this free Unani medical camp, had succeeded in drawing the government’s attention and rekindled public interest in the significance of Unani medicine.
On this occasion, the literary book Tanz-o-Mazah (Satire and Humour) by Dr. Nihal Nazim was also formally launched. The event was attended by several political, social, and literary figures of the city, notably senior journalist Syed Mohammad Hashim Qudsi, Grand Mufti Asad Maulai, Shifa’at Khan, Nadeem Shamsi, Javed Malik, Master Mohammad Qasim, Feroz Khan, Zahid Parvez, Advocate Masarrat Hafiz, Advocate Murtaza Iqbal, Islam Qureshi, Dr. M. Rehman, Abdul Rashid Bakhshi, Parvez Khan, Hammad Ahmed, Syed Zubair Ali, Mohammad Wasim, Nouman Mirza, Sarab Khan, Wasim Mansoori, Malik Ferozuddin, and Abdul Samad, among others.
Chief Guest Masoom Moradabadi, in his address, highlighted the importance of the Urdu language and literature and remarked that Dr. Nihal Nazim’s book on satire and humour is particularly significant due to the scarcity of such works. This book will be highly useful for researchers. The programme convener and head of the National Social Organisation, Mirza Arshad Baig extended the vote of thanks.
